This Friday, Epic Concoction makes a return after a lengthy hiatus. These nights – organised by left field MC and producer Sean “Wyldcard” Bradney-George – were established a couple of years ago.
Epic Concoction championed the growing genre in the Australian version of glitch-hop, which is essentially a whompy funk hybrid inspired and produced by many producers formerly known as psytrance producers.
These events are also known for their eclecticism in showcasing many acts familiar with the outdoor electronic music scene. This time Epic Concoction will be headlining Dysphemic and Miss Eliza.
Dysphemic’s background of breakcore and more contemporary bass music was infused with Eliza’s maestro violin abilities, and they were embraced not only Australia-wide, but also achieved success in America as performers.
Other supporting acts include progressive trance/tech’s Tristan Boyle, Shifteq, Elemental Mesh (Wyldcard and Bellz feat. Gunk), Daurf, Rhythm Nectar, and Kalied.
It’s well worth the journey out to Brunswick this evening if you can make it.
10pm-5am. My Aeon, 791 Sydney Road, Brunswick. $10/15.
