Heavy Innit has been Melbourne’s longest running dubstep night, running in monthly to quarterly intervals. Starting in 2007 and hosted by Brendan “Baddums” Webb and Graham “Affiks” Orr, Heavy Innit has hosted some of the world’s biggest dubstep acts and have attempted to keep their vision adhered to the original tenements of dubstep.
All good things come to an end, and Monday is the final night of Heavy Innit, which is something historical in regards to the Melbourne electronic music scene.
To celebrate the last event, Heavy Innit has brought over J:Kenzo from the UK. J:Kenzo is one of the world’s best contemporary examples of dubstep, and has just come off the back of playing Island Vibe in Queensland. His sound is deep and luscious, and really sums up what the sound of Heavy Innit is all about.
Supporting Kenzo are Heavy Innit regulars Affiks & A13, Kamo, Baddums, Smurph, 2Fuddha, and maybe a couple of surprises.
Come and be a part of a night that has brought a great deal of excitement to people’s lives who have witnessed the power of bass music. On behalf of all steppers in Melbourne, we say Thanks for the Music!
Starts 10pm. Mercat Basement, 456 Queen Street, Melbourne CBD. $20.
