Brooklyn, NY’s Obey City is set to play in Melbourne tonight at Boney, as part of The Operatives‘ latest Espionage event.
Obey City (pronounced “Oh-bee City”) is an electronic act taking a chill rnb-style approach to the trap aesthetic of rolling 808 drums and half-time tempo, and has recently been gaining a lot of popularity.
This has accumulated in his having joined the coveted Lucky Me Collective, which includes such luminaries as Baauer, Hudson Mohawke, Lunice and Jacques Greene.
Supporting him are Operatives JPS, Silentjay, Able8 and Edd Fisher. Tickets are limited at 200, so be quick in grabbing one.
Starts 10pm. Boney, 68 Little Collins Street, Melbourne CBD. $25.
