The creative team of Culture Jam are creating another event on a similar theme to the event Barrel of Monkeys they held at Roxanne’s Parlour two years previously.
This time they’re extending their theme beyond monkey costumes and creating a relative island out of the Revolt Artspace. Amongst other things, they’ll have cocktail bars and tacos, jungle decor, security as lifeguards (at least they’re attempting this) and a giant treasure swap, complete with outsized map courtesy of Revolt.
As so far as music is concerned, South African James Copeland will be playing both his self-named and Nesono sets, as well as jazz/hip-hop band Vibraphonic Orkestra, and local trip-hop artists The Wednesday Experiment doing their thing live.
In support, the usual Culture Jam DJs Cat Party, U-One, The Chief, DIce Fx and Rhythmik will be playing presumably in their usual format of eclectic beats ranging from swingy electro and jazzy glitch-hop. All music will be sublime in Funktion One sound.
3:30pm-1am. Revolt Artspace, 12 Elizabeth St, Kensington. $20.
