Many younger crew may ask “who are Psy-Harmonics and why would I want to go to their event?”
Many people involved in Melbourne’s electronic music culture in their 30s won’t forget the impact that this label had on Australian alternative electronica in relation to a global market, particularly in the areas of deep techno, goa and progressive 4-4 styles.
In the 90s, Psy-Harmonics were one of Melbourne’s most influential labels, and brought to light such artists and DJs as Monster Zoku Onsomb, Snog, Ollie Olsen (a partner in the label), Hecq and Curse Ov Dialekt.
This event will feature the legendary DJ and production skills of Zen Paradox (Steve Law – Live), Andrew Till, Antedilivian Rocking Horse, Dominic Hogan (Lumukanda) and Rip Van Hippy.
If you consider yourself of a studious bent in regards to electronica, come here and get schooled. Not only is this event important historically, it’ll also show that older electronic beats can still match new-school ones pound for pound on the dancefloor, particularly for techno lovers.
Starts 10pm. RMH, 629 Bourke St, Melbourne CBD. $20/25.
